About Galatians 2:20 Ministries Worship Center

Galatians 2:20 Ministries Worship Center was founded by Apostle Cynthia J Buford, October 4, 2009 after God instructed her to leave the comforts of her home church, Philippians V Multi-Ministry Center, founded by the late Shirley O. Prince.  She was licensed to preach May 7, 2006 and had been serving at Philippians V for 11 years. She had planned to remain under Pastor Prince’s leadership; however, in 2006, Pastor Prince was called home to be with Jesus, and the leadership changed. She was then led by the elders of the church for three years. She remained faithful preaching, teaching, baptizing, and administering Holy Communion even though she sensed the leading of the Holy Spirit directing her to go to the next level, pastoring. She did not want to leave her church because she had gotten so used to the people. They were like family yet she did not want to disobey the leading of the Holy Spirit. She soon announced to the elders of the church and the congregation that she would be leaving. However, she still was not clear on which direction to take. So, she began taking godly counsel from a friend, Pastor Tommie L. Brown of Christ In You Faith Temple. She prayed and began to visit various churches in hopes of hearing from God, her next move.

October 4, 2009, approximately 11:15 a.m., she asked God what church did she needed to visit, and she heard Him speak to her spirit to start at home. She knew that God was leading her to begin services there. So, she called up her family and invited them to Galatians 2:20 Ministries’ first service which began at 1:00 p.m. that day. November 2009, Apostle Buford was ordained by Pastor Tommie L. Brown. The next year she met the love of her life, Curtis Buford, September 2010 and they were married December 31, 2011. They had services at their home until the year of 2012 where they moved on Directors Row in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2015, she revamped the name of the church adding “Worship Center”. Also in 2015, God introduced them to Apostle A.D. Smith Jr. and Apostle Mary Smith of Antioch Intercontinental Church who became their spiritual parents and covering for Galatians 2:20 Ministries Worship Center in October 2016. The church out grew the Directors Row location and moved to 2725 S. Mendenhall Rd in Memphis, Tennessee June 2016 where the church continues to grow spiritually and numerically.
