GALATIANS 2:20 MINISTRIES STORY

Galatians 2:20 Ministries Worship Center was founded by Apostle Cynthia J Buford, October 4, 2009, after God instructed her to leave the comforts of her home church, Philippians V Multi-Ministry Center, founded by the late Shirley O. Prince. She answered her call to preach in 2005, and was licensed to preach May 7, 2006, and had been serving at Philippians V Multi-Ministry Center for 11 years. September 2006, her pastor, Shirley Prince was called home to be with Jesus. Apostle Cynthia Buford then served under the leadership of the elders of the church for three years. She remained faithful-preaching, teaching, baptizing, and administering Holy Communion as well as leading worship in song and dance. She began to sense the leading of the Holy Spirit directing her to pastor in 2008. She prayed and waited on confirmation from the Lord. When she received clear instructions from Holy Spirit to leave her home church, she announced it to the elders and the congregation who gave their blessings. She began taking godly counsel and mentorship from a friend, Pastor Tommie L. Brown of Christ In You Faith Temple. She prayed and began to visit various churches listening for the Lord's voice for her next move.

October 4, 2009, approximately 11:15 a.m., she asked God what church she needed to visit, and she heard Him speak  to start at home and to call her family. She knew that God was leading her to begin services there. So, she obeyed; called up her relatives and invited them to Galatians 2:20 Ministries’ first service which began at 1:00 p.m. that day. She was led to preach the message, "You Must Be Born Again" from the Gospel of John chapter 3.

November 2009, Apostle Buford was ordained by Pastor Tommie L. Brown, Christ In You Faith Temple. The next year, September 2010, she met the love of her life, Curtis Buford Sr. and they were married December 31, 2011. Worship services were held at their home until the year of 2012 where they moved on Directors Row in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2015, she revamped the name of the church adding “Worship Center”. Also in 2015, God introduced them to Apostle A.D. Smith Jr. and Apostle Mary Smith of Antioch Intercontinental Church who became their mentors and the spiritual covering for Galatians 2:20 Ministries Worship Center. The church outgrew the Directors Row location and moved to 2725 S. Mendenhall Rd in Memphis, Tennessee June 2016 where the church continues to increase spiritually and numerically.
